Moved to Santa Barbara

Wow this week Elder Pilling has MLC, runs a combined district council (can't call it a zone meeting but that's what it is), buys 2 people sandwiches, and sees so much rain. Thought we were in a drought....

So people, Tuesday I moved in and got settled. Pretty neat place. It's beautiful that's for sure. I drive a 2017 dark grey Carolla with the good 1.3L 4 cylinder motor. Pretty much useless haha

Wednesday was a cool day.  We got a text from a recent convert and he says one of his buddies is interested to hear about the church. So Victor (RC) rolls up in his new lifted Chevy and brings Jeff with him!! Jeff... Well Jeff is a funny guy with a crazy past. I' ve learned quickly the amount a drugs in the Santa Barbara county is clearly very high. Jeff recently found Jesus and we had a really cool lesson with him about the power of repentance and who Jesus Christ is to us. I love Jesus and the spirit was very strong. Jeff feels very grateful for where he is at. It was really cool, not to mention the lesson was right on the coast in Ilsa Vista so that was a nice bonus.

Thursday was MLC. I've been to like 9 of these things and I just LOVE them. It's like a focus zone Conference all about helping others. It's been a pretty cool blessing to be a leader and be able to help and support so many different missionaries.  They are all in a tight spot in one regard or another and it's special just to serve them. So yah MLC was in Oxnard and we were taught for just over 4 hrs.

We then got back and got to work. Then from 9-10:30 we had to call  the district leaders and we made a program for the following days combined district council. The mission has special approval to hold these councils the following Friday of every MLC and we reteach all that we were taught, but only in 90 minutes hahaha.  Anyway it was SO GOOD ugh very spiritual group of people here. It was a sweet council and I loved it.

Blah blah did  a lot this week actually but I want to talk about Jay. He is 17 and is getting baptized Feb 1st. He... Well he needs this more than anyone I've taught. And when I say "he needs this", it's really the fact that he needs Jesus and needs Him so bad. Jay is a rebellious one to say the least and we had a really powerful lesson (I'd never met him and that's when we committed him to baptism) and I know he will be baptized, we all prayed together for confirmation. He has a FAT mile to go before then but we can do it!!! He will need prayers.

Well people I was impressed with this thought:
People are always very grateful for the spirit missionaries bring, but it's not just because we are missionaries, it's because we live the commandments of God pretty precisely. Or we try hahaha but that's how we always have His spirit to be with us. So think on that.

Love you all!! It's been a fantastic first week and this is going to be a crazy awesome transfer!!
