Always an opportunity to teach

Well this week Elder Pilling enjoys a sweet rewarding week, gets an extra companion, and drinks La Croix a lot.

So cool stuff all week with lots of rain. Since it was raining a fair bit, we evacuated some Elders in Carpenteria and they stayed with us. So they stayed only one day. Then the next day, that same companionship went to the doctor's office, then to the hospital, then to the Nakken's, and then one of them went home due to a recent diagnoses. So then we took in his Companion,  Elder Thornock and we became a tri pan from Thursday-Sunday at 8pm. It was certainly interesting with 3 of us, you feel crammed at the door. Anyway, Friday was our first full day as three and we went to Lompoc (an hour north) for district council. Did some training on planning, and then stayed up there for a fat minute with a companionship to learn and help. Pretty neat place. Pretty different than Goleta haha. Friday night we all worked in Santa Barbara as a district and that was cool. Lots of money haha Bentley, Ferrari, i8, you name it. Had pretty neat experiences in just over an hour.

Anywho and then Saturday happened. Saturday was spectacular. Really just a special day. I spent the day with Elder Ward from the Spanish branch in Santa Barbara (been out 6 months) and also had Elder Thornock with us (4 months) and it was really a special day.

Elder Ward and Elder Pilling switched name tags

Let's see we had some fantastic contacts to start the day. People who kinda tested us on our ability to teach even when they showed no or interest. I've learned there is pretty much always an opportunity to teach someone a true principle. And they usually do listen when you do it right.

Anyway following them we met with this new fam, Karina and Luis. Luis is 11 and Karina has a day care centre out of her home. Anyway she met with missionaries a quick minute ago BUT her son recently got involved in scouts at the church and she likes his involvement. Anyway since it was Saturday, she fed us lunch with sandwiches from West Coast sandwiches. Oh my goodness they were SOOO good. Anyway so we are having this lunch and then we get into this beautiful lesson brought by the spirit. We read Ephesians chapter 1:1-10 which discusses the foreordaining to receive the gospel. Anyway and then Ephesians 1:9-10, my personal fav. And we talked about how Jesus is bringing everything out he has got in this last Dispensation. He truly is dispensing all that He has and one of those things is the Book of Mormon. She then bore her testimony that she knows the Book is true. She went to Palmyra, NY for her mom's 60th bday with her 3 other member siblings and she had a confirmation that it is true when they visited the print shop. She's pretty much amazing BUT she does love her catholic church and stuff and is pretty comfortable. The good news tho is that she loves to learn. We can help with that:) After her, we had a few more lessons and it was a busy busy day.

Well yep busy week, we had to drive around some for the emergency transfers and jazz. Put on over 300 miles this week... Like 350 lol but that's OK we got stuff done and it's a blessing.

It was eye opening to be with such young missionaries this weekend to see what the Lord can do with His instruments over the last little bit. He has great plans in store for all His children and I know that. It's a beautiful time here. Starting week 5 of the transfer already. Shoot time flies.

Love yall
