So we were having Christmas eve dinner you see, and the marine biologist started debating that Sasquach was real. I used to believe in them until the stupid show, "Finding Big F oot" and it was then that I realized it was fake and baloney. Well after the discussion we had with her, I was re-convinced! I turned to Elder Drury and said, "pday, let's find big foot. I think he's in our area" hahaha classic.
Well this week Elder Pilling has zone Conference, enjoys more exchanges, and becomes a yellow driver... Ugh.
I want to start by just saying how fast this transfer was. There is one week left in this transfer and I'm freaking out haha it's so insane. Anyway so Tuesday I went on another exchange with Elder Hulet, he's the DL for the SLO District and we were able to work here in SLO for the day:) ah it was great, love spending time with other missionaries one on one learning and growing. I honestly don't remember in terms of proselyting but I do remember what we discussed haha
Then the next cool thing was zone Conference which was Thursday. We drove down with the Santa Maria ZL in the frontier with Elder P behind the wheel okaiii I love LOVE the drive along the coast, get to watch the surfers oh it' s legit. Anyway it was such a spiritual and basic zone Conference. Everything was brought back to Jesus Christ, the gift that He is, and the glorious Saviour that He is. It was very spiritually uplifting and I just really enjoyed it.
But here is a sweet quote that President Nakken shared, "your wife will be as righteous and as spiritual as you will allow her to be." Every once in a while he talks about how important relationships are for the soon to be departing missionaries and it's always very good. Not only that but what he teaches is then applicable to the people we teach, both members and non members. We can't allow ourselves to keep anyone from progressing in the way God intends.
The rest of the week was actually very good. Things are joyous! Just need to find those elect souls who are ready for this.
Oh and I feel kinda bad, so Laverne our 90 Yr old is just Killin it but I feel like I rarely talk about our people hahaha. So yes Laverne is so good, she just moves like she's 50 it's incredible. Anyway she is keeping everything to a T except church... She had all her kids over on the 23rd and she was hosting so she did not make it to church but her fellowship is great and she is totally going to join the church! She feels so good when we teach her and she is thinking about baptism into the Lord's restored Church. She understands the restoration so well she always says, "they need to be teaching kids out of these pamphlets in school" and "oh this is what I haven't had! This is all so new and so true! It really has been brought back." oh how I love her.
Anyway people it's raining here and I'm sad because of it.
Lots of love
