How can I help them?

Well this week Elder Pilling sorrows over the pride of the people, gets hungry, and enjoys some overcast.

Congrats to my Bro for arriving safely home:) and happy bday to the greatest mother on the earth, literally. I know every one says that but c'mon let's be real!!!

This week was tough up until the weekend. Rejection one after another. I even threw sass at one lady which I feel really bad about. It went like this:
Lady: "I have my bible on the coffee table and that's what I need."

Me: "Oh perfect you should read Ephesians 4, it's one of my personal favourites!"

Lady: "No, no... No"

Me: "Oh you don't like reading the bible?"

Lady: "Don't you put words in my mouth!"

Me: "W ell but you said you love the bible I was just recommending something you could read. I'm sorry."

Then I smiled and we closed somewhat nicely but she didn't really like that. Neither did I. Oh well I was frustrated with the work that day.

Yep so that was fun. Nothing too crazy but definitely not good. But she goes to Mountain Brook which is one of the big churches here. Over 2000 attend. But here's some wise words from Moroni:

Mormon 8:28 Yea, it shall come in a day when the power of God shall be denied, and churches become defiled and be lifted up in the pride of their hearts; yea, even in a day when leaders of churches and teachers shall rise in the pride of their hearts, even to the envying of them who belong to their churches.

Christians are some of the most prideful people I've ever met. I sorrow for them! It actually has really taken a toll this week, how can I help them? How can I let them see the beauty of the restored gospel? They all believe they are "saved" and they walk around with their heads held high. Now I'm no genius, but last time I checked God's the only one who grants salvation. That's why we can never let up. We are told to fear God, not accept Him and relax. Now I know there are some great humble Christians out there. A lot of them are, but I'm talking about the ones who think they have it all, they have been saved and they need nothing more. Those are the ones I pray for. The ones that are missing out on so much. Sadly I feel we met all of them this week. Ugh.

But some good news! The zone had 2 baptisms Saturday! Julie, a 15 Yr old gal in Atascadaro and Javier, a 10 Yr old boy in the SLO Spanish group (which we created:) so that's a good moment.

We have 3 more set for October 27 but they will Need some prayers that's for sure. One couple is Hayden and Angelique in the YSA ward. They are looking for this grand answer. I wouldn't be saying this unless I knew they really need some prayers but they need answers sufficient for what they need, not want.

But Junior is doing very well. We met Friday and it was so good. He wants to get baptized, he knows it's what he needs, his prayers keep getting answered. Slight hump is he's thinking about getting baptized on his bday... Which is in January... Which is good I guess but that's a long ways away. We are meeting Tuesday night and his mom is going to join with the Hermanas. Trying to work them together, kinda confusing but it's definitely needed.

Jillmar got new glasses! Haven't seen him in 20 ish days but he got new glasses so that's good. I really like him even though we aren't formally teaching him yet. So sweet.

Well yah the week started bad then the weekend was good with the baptisms.

Adios,
