Respect your Elders

Well people I'm very happy today!! It's P-day, I'm staying in SLO with The Cleggster for 3 transfers!!! That's a fat time but looks good. And to top it off we went mountain biking this morning with President Cook our EQP. He had a nice "test mule" from SRAM for me to ride. Such a beauty. Trek Fuel with Eagle, Pike, guides, roams, reverb, all the goods. A TON of fun and loved it. Got a good work out in haha little bit outta shape.

So the zone is reflectively staying the same! Super happy about that.  We have a lofty goal to baptize 7 people in the zone this month. When we announced it at mission leadership Council, President's comment was "7! I just about fell off of my seat!!" So we are GOING FOR IT and everyone is hyped. Good momentum now. Very pleased. So yes in MLC, which was Tuesday, we all got together to make mission goals. The baptism goal for this month for the mission is 31 souls. A year high for us! And we talked about keeping the momentum to find, teach and baptize, and having lessons in shorter intervals. So instead of 30-60 mins for a lesson, doing 15-30 mins multiple times a week. We've already seen improvements because it allows the spirit to testify more frequently. Not only is this an adjustment but also the way we teach throughout the mission. We really try to teach in the Saviour's way and it's much more interactive giving them more spotlight. Teaching them how to receive their own answers so they are not so dependant on missionaries. Along with the meeting, we got to have lunch at the Nakken's home in Ventura:).  We had home made cinnamon buns and egg casserole. Sad part is that it started at 8am so Elder Clegg and I left SLO at 5:20...early morning but a beautiful drive with the sun rise. That was all Tuesday BTW.

Then we had a short lesson with Junior Wednesday and explained prophets and invited him to conference and then Sunday he couldn't get a ride so we watched the morning session at his place. He said he felt something special when the prophet spoke:) Bless his heart, he's such a good kid and so receptive to the spirit. That Sunday evening we then taught him part of the plan of salvation! It went super good.  He really is interested in learning about this and his primary focus is building a relationship with God. Isn't that so cool?? Really love Junior.

And just to recap Confernce, it was so good. I personally enjoyed Saturday better but it was all amazing. Lots of study to come haha. Really enjoyed Elder Soares talk and Elder Bowen. Good missionary ones. And the YWP was good also. Well they were all good.

BIG NEWS- we are moving!! They are bringing more YSA sisters to SLO so they opened up a 4 women apartment and we are taking over their old apartment. Leaving the "dungeon" as it's known in the mission. That will happen next week though. So good stuff. Also I'm certain the YSA sisters overlap our whole area, we often send referrals back and forth. We ll, they sent us a guy named Ken.  Ken comes out and says, "Ya know the pretty sisters came and talked to me but I'm nonconvertible. I recommend you drop this religious thing and go chase Wine, Women, and travels." So that was classic.

OK back to my ride this morning.  Rocky loose trials, dusty and warm haha We road straight from his garage. Good to be on a bike hahah

Well here's an experience.  So I think about things all the time, and awhile back I was thinking about other missions and baptisms and jazz like that.  At Conference,  idk who was speaking, but I started thinking about my mission. This mission. And I got another very sure confirmation that this is where I'm supposed to be. Many memories came flooding back about all of the things I've learned. I have really grown to understand how the church works. Who's involved, how stakes run and wards and quorums and I know I wouldn't have such clear learning opportunities if I were elsewhere. It's very clear that this is the true church because it is His, Jesus Christ's Church and he has President Russel M. Nelson who is definitely His prophet at the helm. He also has 12 apostles whom I know are special witnesses of Jesus Christ and I know they are called of God. This is the truth! And I'm so grateful for my mission. I love and support my Mission President and wife and they are geniuses. Looking forward to another transfer!! Love you all I'm sure of it, it's called charity, and Adios.
