This week Elder Pilling lives in 2017...and 2018, knocks on some doors, and does other missionary things:)
How's it going? Good to hear!! (I'm just assuming you're doing good). This week was so good, went by quick and it's hard to remember it all but it was just a solid week:)
So last week was hectic with Christmas and things and my email was no good so imma talk a little about Christmas, I had Christmas eve dinner with the coolest family the Hanshaws. They are so awesome and they got us a bunch of presents:) and these portable chargers for our phones:) It was a delicious tri tip and very fun. Then Christmas we had a solid dinner with the Faerbers and they had this peanut butter mouse cake thing that was to murder for. Like wassup so unbelievable fluffy and good. Skyping the fam was fantastic, got to talk to senior Elder Pilling and Willyboy Pillvans (hehe get it Evans and Pilling) oh man some things just don't change do they? I'm still hilarious, or so I think lol😁 I appreciate and love all the gifts I got:) just fantastic really. Lots of love and support:)
Also I sent my first letter ever the other day and it was so fun!!! My goodness imma be sending mail a lot now (except idk how much stamps are lol)
So now for this week! Wahoo yay we saw JP the mailman like 4 times. He appreciated the gift we gave him a few weeks prior (book of Mormon of course) and he always honks at us in his cool mailman car:) bless his soul.
We set up 4 appointments with potential investigators and 2 with Luis our investigator and they all fell through:):(:-/ yah dang is right. Everyone I guess was busy for the holidays? Not sure. But this week we already have some scheduled things with potentials who are promising to become investigators of the church and Jesus Christ's gospel. So that's exciting.
So I had Starbucks 3 times last week before Christmas. Whoops. And 2 this past week, it's good let me tell yah. Carmel cream based frappacino for the win. I'm so white girl my goodness. Yo also LA croix drinks are delish. Moving on...
Next week's email you're gonna hear about all our new investigators and lessons. I'm already excited.
This week tho, got to stay focused. We ran into this lady who was moving boxes from her storage garage to her apartment on the 3 floor and we helped her out for an hour. Made things tight for the rest of the day on time but she has been prepared by the Lord. Her mom was Mormon, she loves God and is Christian. She wants to serve a mission one day and appreciated our help so much. We gave her a blue book that we call The Book of Mormon and invited her to read. She had some of the usual questions on why she would need that book over the bible but I think we sorted it all out. She said we could come over any time and she wants to feed us (she's Mexican so she loves to give us food) so that was awesome.
Then on Sunday which is known as the Sabbath, we were singing the closing hymn when this guy from like Jerusalem named Joseph came in, thought it was a Catholic church but allowed us to teach him the restored gospel. We then invited him to stay for the last hour. He did!! And said he'd be back next week. Problem is, he lives in the San Fernando valley so he's out of our mission. But still cool that we taught him and allowed him to know the truth:)
Idk what happened. We were fed everyday last month except 2 days and we don't have a dinner all week this week...what did we do wrong lol
I just want to bear my testimony that I know that this is the true church and has the fullness of the gospel which has been restored to us under the direction of Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith who was a prophet of God. Even though a mission isn't always easy, it is the best. I love my saviour and continue to learn about his life and what he did for me. And all of you. Love it and I'm happy as a beeeee I really am
Love you all unless of course you're Satan but it's all good non the less
