MERRY Christmas to you all!!!!
This morning is Christmas morning. I'm not eating breakfast because I'm still full from dinner last night.
Let's get to this past week tho! We got a new investigator!☺☺☺ problem is he's YSA aged...so we will pass him off to the YSA sisters this week probably😕😔 . He's 19 and in search of truth. We first taught him the first vision which was last week then Elder McEntire and I went back and taught the whole restoration! He was totally engaged! The only problem is that I'm still learning how to teach, Elder McEntire is as well. But we are doing loads of role plays this transfer which really helps!!
Yah know it's Christmas and I'm in such a jolly mood. What a wonderful time of year!!!
So here's my important thoughts for the week and my testimony. This was my hardest yet most rewarding week I've had yet. It was tough because I really really felt like I was doing this whole mission wrong. I felt like I was a terrible missionary (not the worst missionary but not a good one either) and that I wasn't using my time effectively. Through council from the fam I was told I should study president Nelson's talk, "Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ Into our Lives"
So that's what I did. I read it, then read it again, then highlighted some things, then read it again and numbered the 5 things we need to do to be able to draw on the Godly Power of Jesus Christ.
1. We begin by learning about him
2. We choose to have faith in Him and follow Him
3. We make sacred covenants and keep them with precision
4. Reach up to him in faith
5. When you spiritually stretch beyond anything you have ever done before, then His power will flow into you.
He talks about how when you reach up to Him with the same intensity as a drowning person has when grasping for air, power from Jesus Christ will be ours. Well I feel like i was drowning, Satan was pulling my attitude and spirit into the depths of vegas (sin city hehe) and that is when i grasped like I was drowning for the strength my Saviour has for me and I had the best day!! I was so happy and positive even though the day itself was rough. Everything fell through and no one answered their doors... But it was evidence to me that my Saviour Jesus Christ gave me strength. And from then on (saturday) I have been high on a cloud!! I know my Saviour lives, that he loves me and is there for me. I know that as you pray to your father in heaven, with faith in Christ, he will manifest himself unto you!! I am so grateful for this season, for the opportunity that we have time to share our beliefs through the holidays. It's a special time of year but know that each Sunday we should take that time to look unto our Saviour in deep prayer and gratitude as well.
I love my mission. It's tough when you are so new and trying to figure out where you stand and how you want to work as a missionary, but through relying on Christ he can give you the strength to be able to figure out how YOU can be YOU on your mission.
Merry Christmas! Enjoy the holidays😀😁
