This week Elder Pilling goes mountain biking, sees some miracles, loses his trainer:(, gains a brother! And eats some tacos
Hello all the people of all
That doesn't make sense but I usually dont:)
Last Monday I didn't do much of anything so that's a bummer. Wait JK I just remembered. I ate Thai food which was delicious with the Hanshaws, buddy played in the NFL and she drives a 750i. And we are spending Christmas eve with them:) After dinner however, we taught our returning less active Tiffany. She's 20 and goes back to school soon but we taught a powerful plan of salvation lesson. It was the first lesson I've taught to someone other than my comp since the MTC lol but it went well!
Tuesday evening we went out with our ward mission leader to meet some less actives. Got 2 appointments out of it and got to see some cool Christmas lights.
Wednesday we met with those less actives. Figured out where they are at in their knowledge of the gospel, which isn't much at all. So I plan on teaching them lol. They are super nice and friendly. Wednesday night was super cooooool. We went out with a priest and taught the restoration to a Less Active and her non-member husband and son!! They were fully engaged in the lesson (miracle) and we set up dinner for Saturday. They are so cool. She's Mexican and I barely understand what she says lol lolol but yah Travis the son is 16 and was really cool.
I feel like it's boring going through day by day.
So here's some random information to liven y'alls up. I ate a grilled cheese sandwich everyday this week for lunch. They are delicious. I also made biscuits for breakfast one time. Also good.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PEPPERMINT MILKSHAKE at Chick-fil-a. Some members were going on and on about it last week so this week they bought us some (Chick-fil-a is in TO) and we had In-n-Out. Which by the way I think is NOT as good as Canadian AW, and yes there is a difference. So there yah go, y'alls aren't missing out on In-n-Out. Although that milkshake. You better go hit up the YYC airport lolol
We also learned a person we were teaching was high on meth...coolio
Another miracle was with this guy whom I don't know how to spell his name. He let us into his home and we shared the first vision. It all happened so quick it was insane!!! Invited us back anytime. So basically Moorpark is about to get super super busy!!!
Elder Ujhely is leaving Moorpark:( I've learned pretty much all I know about missions from him so it's sad to see him go. He's 1 and done in all 3 of his areas, so he's never really gotten close to members.
Help is appreciated... And this includes my MTC teachers (they say they read there students emails). So what I worry about is the members, cause I'm like weird and a bit awkward so convos aren't great for me. E Ujhely did the talking, I did the spiritual thought. It's tough because no one here snowmobiles. No one here fly fishes. No one talks about cycling because it's always awkward talking about a sport that's hard to measure how good you are. And no one knows about bikes. I don't know junk about other sports and so convos are useless for me. Like legit. I like talking about what they do for work and business and stuff but that's it.
SO any advice on how to get good relationships with members would be much appreciated.
(I'm sure that didn't make sense)
This morning we went mountain biking!!! Like seriously! A member (the one with the E bike) took us. I borrowed an older Giant Reign 3 26" crazy the new advances bikes have. It felt so slow to turn. Anyways we went to this place called Wood Ranch Trails. I was on his tail the whole time. Even with his e bike. Felt good to get out and work the lungs. He Strava'd it. His name is Scott Akina. After we finished he let me ride up part of this trail which is similar to that first steep climb up Ranger. I did it on the Giant and was pushing and then got on his e bike and was laughing at first, then I realized that I was barely pedalling and climbing pretty fast. Then I got mad because all ride I'm pushing staying close to him thinking he was only getting some assistance then I realized he was barely working and getting alllll assistance. Those bikes are dumb, it's a dirt bike. The amount of assistance was crazy. Any way the ride was still fun! 8 miles and 1600ft. That's what his Strava said. And 1 hr ride time. I loved getting out!!
I love biking around my area tho. It's kinda like a big Waterton, I just ride wherever and through stop signs and red lights. Whoops. But I love the bicycle. Y'alls should get one of you don't have one.
Sunday we had 2 lessons fall through which was a bummer. But that's ok. NOT! It's not ok! We have a message to share.
I'm tired of emailing, I usually do this one first but today I didn't so imma stop now.
One week till Christmas so I'm selling Skype minutes. Just ask my mommy and she'll give you a price:)
Love you all (probably unless Satan is reading this)
