Today Elder Pilling got up at 2:20AM YAYAYAYAYA had 2 visa waiters head out to Ecuador this morning. Little bit rough with the early start but it is alllll good.
This week, elder Drury and Elder Pilling stare at a TV screen ALLLLLLLLL day. Literally 10:00am-9:00pm. Not to worry though, definitely not actually watching TV. Interesting week with transfers that's all imma say.
Stellar blessings though! We were at church yesterday and Bishop Basua texted us and said, "Did you see the Jones family walk in? They are the family with the son who wants to be baptized." It swells my heart to see a young man want to follow Jesus Christ. He's 12 and just moved Saturday night from Arizona where he was living with his dad. He got custody switched to his mom who is a member and we have a lesson tonight. He's a very sharp kid.
Then I cut my thumb on an egg shell.
I'm not going to lie, this whole week was transfer week so we sat in a room and moved people around on a screen. Not much happened this week because of that. So that is why this is a so so email.
However let's follow up with Jonathan Everett, the black guy who we started teaching sometime last week. We started our lesson with a video on The First Vision and he said, "I just felt the power". He's a very blessed man who is super humble and receptive to the spirit. He knew the importance of consistency and promised us he'd read The Book of Mormon everyday, no matter how much or how little. It is so amazing to see someone learn something new that they know is true, and to see The Light of Christ pour into them, especially during such a powerful accounting of The First Vision. I feel very strongly that Jonathan will take the steps to follow the Lord and be baptized. Just have a few things to run around.
There is an important teaching in the gospel of John 1:
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
John was not the light, but he showed others the true light, Jesus Christ. We are not the light, but we need to show others the true light, Jesus Christ. John the baptist did this partly through performing priesthood ordinances, which is what priesthood holder ministers can do. By performing priesthood ordinances we can follow the example set BY John, and help others find the true light, even Jesus Christ. I love the examples of those in the scriptures. This truly is the truth and every follower of Christ before this dispensation pointed toward Christ. Think about ways to show others the light, as did John the baptist. This is the greatest work, the greatest challenges, and the greatest cause.
Have a blessed week!
P. S. The Dyson is working well, we are giving up the Tundra and taking a retired Tacoma (the mission lost 2 cars due to accidents last week) and God is good. Also took 0 pics this week except the transfer train. Sorry
Adios,
Elder P
