So let's see here people couldn't tell you what we did this week... Haha jk I just remembered. Nope that isn't actually correct... This is so hard. Ahhhhhhh I remember now! Only took 10 mins. So Thursday was the follow up trainers meeting. I conducted and it went well, even though everyone was late hahaha. President Nakken was unimpressed to say the least. Anyway that was 10-4 and good discussion and jazz. Pretty small group since it's right before summer. We will be getting a lot more in the next 4 transfers. Focused on 2 scriptures. Alma 48 when Moroni prepares the land for battle against Amalikiah by building up the banks to defend the land. And John where it's taught that if you love one another then others will clearly see you as a disciple of Christ, which is what we need as missionaries. To prepare and plan, and to love others so we gain trust. It was neat.
Friday I spent some time in Moorpark, different ward this time. And we were on bikes! So that was good, until we didn't have the key to the lock. So here's the story of the week. We decided to just lean them up against a fence because the work goes on! And we talked to a few groups of people and shared The Book of Mormon, and a bunch of pamphlets. It was all good until we came back to the fence and the bikes were GONE. Pretty not funny when the bike you were riding was brand new and so was the companion's... So little bit of a panic there. We called Elder Drury and they had to come pick us up. Funny thing is, when they came to pick us up they had the bikes in the bed of the truck... Not very funny but kind of but not really. So there, they pranked us. This was all Friday BTW.
Saturday was an exchange, Friday was exchange, Thursday, and Wednesday. Pretty much everyday. Sometimes for good reasons sometimes for less good reasons but what impresses me about missionaries is, although they don't have very much skill or experience, they have faith (the mission is very young right now). And faith goes a lot farther than any skill or talent. It's good to see because the mission baptizes about double from when I came in. They actually happen these days. Week ending, we had 14 baptisms this week in the mission. That's the highest weekly amount in 3 years! What's up! Pretty special and we had 6 people finalized on Friday so it was a close call.
What's super cool is David, Alisa, and Roman Buso all got baptized and confirmed yesterday. They have been one of my most favourite people on the mission. They've made big changes to life. Alisa asked me to confirm her and that was a very special experience for me and her. Such a strong spirit. David said he felt like he left his body because of how clean he felt. I know Jesus lives. This is His church, and ordinances performed with His authority. Pretty good huh?
MLC tomorrow, then we start zone Conference next week, then transfers, then repeat.
Adios
Elder P
