This week Elder Pilling learns he's staying in T. O., has a stellar lesson and a scary lesson... And hits a high record of 15 non members at church! Okay, that's a miracle if I don't say so myself, and found a lot of rocks. Oh and a demon.
Earlier this week we were walking along and we see some cool cars. A Selby GT 350, Carerra2, CLS 550 AMG and a Tesla. So naturally we knock the door, the house sitter comes up and tells us the owner is on a trip and she's not super interested blah blah blah. We peanut butter dip outta there and then we see a demon! That's kinda scary yah know?? Demons are deadly. But this demon was on a flat bed truck and it was a pretty blue. Next thing we know buddy with the other cars was getting a Dodge Demon dropped off. Now for those who don't know, it runs with the Bugatti Veyron and is insanely fast. Pretty neat car if you ask me. So that was our demon experience.
We also reunited with a friend I was teaching before and she had been reading the Book of Mormon while I was gone! She's been progressing in her own little way. Petty neat I think.
Then Saturday was a miracle day. I spent the day with Elder Johnson because Elder Tanner went to a baptism. We had a great dinner and then stopped by a family we've been trying to teach. He was literally running out the door and said, "Later guys" then within 5 minutes he texted us and thanked us for coming by and asked us if we could come by that same night at 8. Of course we aren't dumb, so we shred over there and just had an amazing experience. We asked him about baptism and he said, "I have a pool can we do it right now?" haha baptism takes a little more preparation than that but it was a pretty good response in my opinion. We had such a great moment that night and he clearly knew we were servants of God. We went through a lot of doctrine and at one moment he stopped us and said, "I am feeling a tingle in my heart and then a very warm coat coming over me". Pretty good description of the Holy Ghost. We continued to fill him in as we read a very powerful scripture in Mosiah. Pretty sure I share it every week. Mosiah 3:7-9.
Then Sunday was a farewell talk for a young man. The family invited a couple who they have been working with and they really enjoyed it! We had 7 people we personally invited come and then there were 6 exchange students who are living with members. Pretty crazy and the high council talk was very very good. Talked about the Hope of Gods light.
I have also been impressed to share with people The gift of charity and what it means. We had a scary lesson where the couple started freaking out at each other and I couldn't help but know that charity never faileth. It is the pure love of Christ, even though everything fails, charity never fails. We need to be patient, gentle, kind, And this couple really needed all three. Tough to see. We shared with them a classic scripture 2 Nephi 25:26,
"26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."
They need to talk about Him, the Son of God, the Saviour of the World. He literally has saved them both. Anyway think about how you talk about Christ and how often you do as well.
