Hello all! This week Elder Pilling has a less active come to church, has his knuckle bleed from knocking doors, and has his left thumb nail grow back 100% (lost it in July), and other things as well.
Last Monday we made alotes (I bet that's spelled wrong) the corn on a stick with butter, mayonnaise, chilli powder, and parmesan cheese. Very good. We played werewolf which I am very skilled at btw.
Tuesday we lost an investigator! Ahhh so sad but at the same time rewarding. Both Elder McEntire and I felt very good about the situation. We had her read the pamphlet and then on our return visit we answered her questions. She didn't believe that the fullness of the word of God was lost from the earth during apostasy and that there is a modern prophet today. She was very open to revisiting the idea later but for now she could not accept that. She said she believes everything except the prophet and apostasy stuff. We left feeling good that we did all we could and helped her understand the Gospel more. I believe one day she will get baptized and become a member. Just not now. Bummer that we lost an investigator though. We worked hard to find her!
Wednesday was the middle of the week per usual. Lots of finding. That's a big part of my mission is finding. Find and teach, baptize and keep. You've got to start somewhere. Elder McEntire and I have started to keep track of our tracting. We then record the stats and Elder McEntire relates it to sports. He's not the biggest fan of tracting lol. Anyway so it's either a yes or a no if they answered the door, then yes or no if they were accepting. Pretty neat. Best time so far is 4:30-7 ish. YO I love mail people. (Not male but mail) we found Evelyn a mailwomen who knows JP and Erik who are the other 2 mailmen we talk to so we now know 3 of the mail people here in Moorpark. Super awesome!!!!!
Thursday we took Bentley out with us teaching. He played football for BYU and is awesome. He leaves the 30th for the mtc. He is serving in the north Sydney Australia mission. Any who we taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Nancy!!! Her husband is an investigator but he wasn't there... Anyway we taught her (less active) and it went well, I love testifying of the joy the Gospel brings into our lives and the strength Christ gives us. We invited her to church and really enforced that it is a commandment. Bentley was so funny tho. Her house was on the warm side but he was dripping sweat. Very funny. Shouldn't laugh but he's a cool guy so it's all good.
I know Canada doesn't have Jersey Mikes but it is the greatest sandwich place ever. Better than firehouse subs (barely). Anyway I get the Reuben and it is so good. My goodness I recommend!!!
Oh and then Saturday we talked with this guy Richard (I've been meeting him Saturdays for a while) he is converting a ram pro master into a camper van. We talk about roof top tents and jazz and then share a message, have been sharing more and more and the goal is to teach him the lessons!!!! Pray for Richard he's awesome. We also taught Veronica and Luis Saturday. Did all the how to begin teaching points, which btw I had never done so many in my life. It was so cool. Since I haven't been teaching a ton of real people, we always do role plays, but it's hard to know how to begin teaching to a plastic alligator with no arms (his name is Scott and we found him in the dumpster, he is always our investigator). I'll attach a pic. So it was cool to do it to real people this time. Also taught the restoration. What a powerful message that is!! So strong=]

Scott, our investigator |
Sunday was just so great. The co-founder of Chuck E Cheese is in our ward btw!! He's a convert of 18 months and is so awesome. Teaches the 16-18 year olds and spoils them with toys. It's awesome. We also are still pushing for this exciting member lessons we are going to do. It will strengthen our teaching, the members of the ward, and will gain trust. I think I've talked about this in the past but idk
Transfer calls are Saturday!!! And transfers are next Tuesday. I'm feeling like I'm staying with Elder McEntire:) but just so you all know those are soon. Oh and I hit 3 months this week!!!!!! Which is odd, I only have 21 months to figure this whole missionary thing out!!! It's crazy for sure.
Btw Nancy was the one who came to church.
I love you all!! Except Satan of course.
Elder pile of ling hehehe you all know my name let's not kid here.
