"Feed My Sheep"

Well crazy day. It's transfer day tomorrow and some gene decided that our apartment should get its carpets cleaned today so I packed up, and moved everything off the carpet all morning and then went to the trampoline park again, got a bite to eat with some of our friends, got our eyebrows threaded which is amazing and wonderful. Very strange feeling but I loved it. I look wonderful!!

So yes I am getting transferred... Again. Up to SLO or San Luis Obispo. I've heard wonderful wonderful things and so I am excited to get to there. Our zone is massive, geographically and is the most North of the mission. My new Companion Elder Clegg and I will be driving a Nissan Frontier, which I'm actually excited about. Done with the Corolla for a bit. Never been up North so I'm excited to see the work.

I said lots of byes to those whom we are teaching. A few of the members. Blah blah blah.

Here has what has been on my mind.
In the MTC some time ago Elder Holland gave a talk called "Feed My Sheep".  It's 50 mins, he gave part of it in a G.C. talk at one point. Anyway he told the story of Peter, after Christ left last, the apostles didn't know what to do so they went back to the fishing. The Saviour shows up and Peter swims to shore he's so happy. The Saviour then asks Peter 3 times if he loves Him. Peter says yes, yes, yes and the Saviour says "well feed my sheep!" and when Elder Holland says that you just about want to quit because you know you aren't doing it well enough.

Well people who I know, if you love Him then Feed His Sheep! I have realized that my mission is my prime time to feed His sheep. Day after day for another long time. But he then says  "forever" it won't end after 24 or 18 months. It will last FOREVER! This is eternal life, this isn't some game, these are God's children and if you love Christ then Feed His Sheep. I am very passionate about this all, I've listened and read Elder Holland's remarks multiple times and it puts a fire in my heart. This Is what I'm called to do, and I know I'm not the only one. So for all you people, who want to listen to some 18 year old who doesn't even know barely anything, take my advice and reevaluate your life. Do you love the Saviour? And are you doing your part to Feed His Sheep!!! My goodness I know it's easy for me to say well I'm out here, I have very little distractions, but you certainly don't take your nice car to heaven. I know it'll be a lot of work, the Saviour's work is not easy, and I can testify to that. It's hard, and 100% service. But when you look at what Christ asked Peter, if he loved him, he said I have asked you before to leave your nets and I am asking you again, and I don't want to ask you a third time but when I said leave your nets it was forever and when I asked you to follow me it was forever, and when I asked you to be an apostle it was forever! Those are the words (without punctuation) that Elder Holland used. We aren't apostles I get that, but if you love Him, the Saviour, the Redeemer of the world, then you will feed His sheep. You can show how to do that but please do it.

Elder Holland's challenge: "You need to decide tonight whether you're on a coarse that's committed to the idea that you do really love God. You really do love the Saviour. And if you do...then your call is to feed His sheep, forever." I just pray and hope and ask that you think about that. We are struggling here to baptize people. And so I reach out to all of you, because you are missionaries, and God needs help to Feed His Sheep! So thanks for reading. Sorry to give you homework but like I said, this isn't just a walk in the park. It's eternal life.

Love you all. No idea what my new address is. Ummm bday coming up, as well as my 9 month mark. Time flies.

Love,

The one and only, next to Cale, Elder Pilling
