Hello everybody of all areas. Elder Pilling here telling you about the week. Well it's been wonderful. Just really good.
So this week I ride a bike, drive a car, and wash a horse
Very eventful. So Tuesday we met up with a friend of ours, Andy. Andy is a cyclist and has a few bikes SOOO WE WENT BIKING yesm we sure did. Road an old Specialized. It was awesome and really made me happy. It boosted my spirits to the max. Just love the bike. It went really well. At this point he hadn't excepted to learn but since we connected so well (he rides 2012 S-works epic xx1 xtr combo) we set up an appointment for Friday. So we will jump to Friday when we had dinner with Andy and his active wife Pam. We get there and I smell charcoal. Yes they had a big green egg! Just made my day AGAIN. We had a delicious chicken feast and it reminded me of home. Not in a bad way tho. Just connected even more and then we taught them. Boom he is awesome. Not perfect but a good person to teach. It went very well. And I'll have you know (mom pay attention) their fridge has a soda stream built in. My goodness is that not awesome? I think it is.
Anyway, we also had exchanges with the Thousand Oaks District leader. It was a wonderful time. Seriously it was. He drove his 2017 Malibu. Lovely car. And I really enjoyed it. He's a new DL and I enjoyed the training with him. He is a wonderful missionary.
OK so Presidnt Olson, our stake president said that a new general authority wrote a general conference talk and had to submit it to a senior General authority. The senior looked over it and sent it back and said "therefore what" and I've been thinking a lot about that. We are taught SO much, advised to do So many things and it's like why? What will YOU do about it. How will it effect you. So it was cool because he said this at the end of the youth Conference. And when you think about all the things we are taught. or the experiences we have (efy, youth Conf etc), you enjoy them and then often jump right back into your regular life. And it's like NO you can't do that. Everyone knows about the spiritual high. Well keep the flame. What will you have to do to keep the flame and prepare more fuel? Therefore what. It's everywhere and applies to everything. Our friend that's learning about the gospel bore her testimony at the youth conference, it was really wonderful, and then the next day we had a lesson about conversion. She has a testimony of the church and gospel and it's like "therefor what"? It was a very cool experience.
Along with this I have been thinking about that fact that you never know enough. I remember telling my mother that I wanted to skip the first 6 months of my mission and just skip the newbie stuff. And I wanted to do that because I wanted to jump all the new learning and stuff, but that part is never ending. Been out 8 months this month, I have a new assignment this transfer and there is so much here to always learn and improve on. When I get home same thing, Constantly learning and improving. And it's eternal. It's forever. On all levels, but NEVER think that you will ever know enough. Sure you will get to a part in your mission or life where you know "enough" but it's never ending. Kinda scares me because it takes a lot of work BUT it's worth it. God is there, he is right behind us, helping us along our journey. We have our saviour, Jesus Christ, who suffered for us. So we can have our burdens lifted so we can focus on what's next. So we can become like him. This whole world and life is amazing!
Well there's an updated Preach My gospel. Some more information or fixes, but it's all revelation.
So our mission goal this month is 24 baptisms. We are at 15 with 1 week left. Our zone goal is 1. Usually end up with 11-18, which isn't a lot for the size of our mission. But the worth of souls is great in the eyes of God. And to see some
Well that's what's good. Love you all!
