Alright yes this is for real. It's really happening. Email is working!
So this week Elder Pilling writes his emails in a hammock, drives many times, and successfully moves!
So we drive a 2017 silver Corolla. Last one was white. We switch driving everyday. It's wonderful. Very slow ⛛ but that's all good.
So let's just dive in. My comp is Elder Morgan. He was my zone leader while I was in Moorpark and I really look up to him! He's 21 and goes home in December. He's been here in the Thousand Oaks ward for 5 months already so he knows what's going on.
The ward is absolutely marvelous. They are so inviting and love the missionaries. Which is good because our member Missionary work is very good. In fact we only tracted once this week:) haha success. So it's good. Our apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. So I get my own shower and such. We have 4 beds and our first exchange is on Wednesday with a new missionary. They are the elders serving in Walnut Canyon!!!!! My home ward (don't worry Dewinton) so I will be going to Moorpark Wednesday with the trainer and the trainee will come here. Very excited!!!! Friday we have exchanges with the assistants. Also excited. But let's talk about this last week.
I met almost all the investigators here. And lots of members. One of them knows Ashley Grigor super well.
Miracle report:
Saturday we knocked a door, no one home. Knocked the next door ding ding ding nice young family. 4 kids, we asked her a question she said yes, she asked us if we would like to come Into her home. We said YES and taught a very short restoration lesson. As in 4 mins. She then had to go. But the miracle is she let us in. That has never, in my entire life, happened to me. Nobody just lets the missionaries in. So it was very exciting. Meeting her this week!
I want to discuss more about Camarillo because y'alls missed two weeks because my email wasn't working. It was very sad leaving all our investigators. Dizi the Albanian cried. How sweet! She's so cute (don't worry she's like 70) Marcella (who is getting baptized in July) was also very sad. She was very grateful for our efforts in helping her prepare for baptism. Margaret was sad and took it as a sign of "time is moving quick, I need to work harder to prepare for baptism" and that's it. I got some gay looking glasses. Polarized though so I'll be hitting the rivers with them when I'm back. I love them tho. Quite hilarious. I said goodbye to my dear friend Elder Potter. I'm really going to miss him. He grew a lot! At transfer train I saw Elder Goodman!!!!! My favourite and we discussed Moorpark. Sounds like George and Nancy are still well. George I guess knows the church is true. Somehow we've got to get him in the water... He also said his new companion was competing with me the whole transfer. I guess they liked me hehe I'm just joking!!! They loved me! Oh my goodness aren't I hilarious.... Lol I'm joking I learned and grew a lot from all those people.
It's crazy to think only 7 weeks ago I was there. Love it.
Well I'm done. I do pray and ask that you all take the time to consider anyone you know who is just in a tight spot. It may be a bad job, or a recent death, or what have it but think about who you know and seek heavens help on how to help them.i know the gospel will bless them! Many members are confused on how to help God's children. What's amazing is that he knows how you can help and all you need to do is search, ponder, and pray.
Love you all! Also shout out to Ian Luke for his 15 b'day on the 14!!!!!!!! He'll be an old man when I'm home;)
