Fantastic Week

This week was one of the greatest in my whole life! What a fantastic week. So Tuesday was a special day because we had our interviews with President Nakken. He is the most amazing person in the world. He is extremely spiritual and connected. We had an amazing opportunity. I asked him what kind of missionary I am...haha. and he told me I'm a confident missionary, which is great because we talked about when I  first came into the mission I was VERY shy and reserved. Very. He wondered then if I would come out of my shell. I guess I'm starting to poke out 🐌. It was just amazing and a great interview. Also it's wonderful to talk to sister Nakken while the others are getting interviewed. We discussed the gospel of Christ. Really good discussion and learned from everyone. I went on exchanges with my district leader but I don't know when that was... Saturday? Well it wasn't Monday or Sunday. Huh maybe interviews were Wednesday and exchanges Tuesday... give me a sec to figure this one out...alright coffee break over. I figured it out. So interviews were Wednesday and exchanges were Tuesday. Let's talk about that because it was miracle filled. So I went with Elder Campbell to his area. We planned a lot of Finding activities because they don't have any one to teach. By the end of the day we had 5 return appointments (unusually high) and many new potential investigators with 2 of them being very solid. It was really cool actually. We scared the poop out of Heather, she didn't hear us but ended up being very curious and intrigued about our message. And the other lady whom I don't know her name, is atheist so we started discussing the questions of the soul. By the end of the visit she just wanted to hear it all but had a new born so couldn't keep talking. She told us all her friends were looking into religion and she has been thinking that she should as well. They are teaching her today at 11. Even on P- day. It was cool because we asked the right question. Jehovah Witnesses tract the complex we were in a lot and most people just shut the door in our little noses but this lady took the extra second to listen to our question and boom! Very inspired. Wow so many good things.

Ok so Thursday we went to the L.A. temple. Which is the 2nd largest and seriously massive. 🏰 It is amazing. I didn't see any of you there:/ but it was just glorious, so good to be in the Lord's house again. We went with Sister Sheau (shoe•ee) who has the most beautiful house in the area. Anyway she took us with the other elders and her daughter and daughter's 2 friends. Don't worry they were like 14. We got delicious ice-cream sandwiches after and L.A. is very busy if you didn't know. Also many rich people. On the way there we saw many super cars🚘 . It was just really cool to be a part of and go to the temple to get a little break from the world.

Then Friday was just great and Saturday was also great. We had stake conference and we got to spend more time with President and Sister Nakken! Woot Woot. They are wonderful. They pretty much discussed ministering more. Sunday, which btw was yesterday, we had the general session. 2 hours is a long time! My attention span certainly hasn't gotten better...but it was still great. President Nakken spoke about the law of consecration and giving our talents to build up the kingdom of God. And Sister Nakken shared some thoughts around D& C 60:2 and since I know you won't go look it up I'll just paste it here for you.

2 But with some I am not well pleased, for they will not open their mouths, but they hide the talent which I have given unto them, because of the fear of man. Wo unto such, for mine anger is kindled against them.

She spoke about how we just need to open our mouths. Saying hello is better than nothing. Non members should feel the love and appreciation we have for ALL men. Little by little we bring men to Christ. We also had elder Clark from the 70 speak. He's hilarious. He was the President of BYUI for a long time. Super great but I don't want to talk about it. Sorry.

Oh my goodness so Daisy had a flat. I patched the tube and then the flat tire has a hole from to many skids...whoops and so the reason she went flat was because the tube popped out the itty hole. It looked wired and I touched the bulged tube and it popped and scared me very bad and I screamed very loud and then everyone laughed at me 😐 but it was funny:) so Daisy is out. Don't really want to put in the $$bills for a bike that is a piece of junk. So sad.

Also the best thing here is people just give us fruit. So buddy boy Ellgen hooked us up with 8 containers of fresh raspberries from his work. He's got me thinking of agriculture... and everyone gives us avacados and oranges. It is wonderful. Oh and fresh eggs. We have hook ups to eggs as well. Americano, brown, all the gooders. Oh and of course we tried to buy In n Out but the member wouldn't let us so free In n O ut. He's not even in our ward. Hook ups.

Ok so a while back we needed to take the bus to district meeting. The bus comes at 10:05. We missed the bus!! What genes. So there's 4 elders running down the street in our suits trying to beat the bus to the nearest stop. I'm sure we looked like complete fools. We made the bus and arrived safely. Wahoo!

Oh my goodness also brother Greene. He's less active but the coolest person in the world. Oh man I'll attach pics. Apparently he plays Bob Marley in the Bob Marley documentary on Netflix... who knows tho.

Yah know so much happens that I can't even tell you what happens and it grieves my heart. I think of something to say the night before and then poof is just gone! Ugh so sad but I personally think this was a good email, I hope anyway because it took like 40 mins to write...

Anyway I just leave you my testimony that we have a prophet on the earth today who leads and guides us. President Russell M. Nelson is the prophet today and an inspired man, I know this church is true. It is Christ's church without a doubt and the Book Of Mormon can bear you that witness, because it is the word of God and most definintely true. I just finished it again and if you are not reading it daily, please do so.

Love you all and all the support. It really means a lot and I appreciate it much.

P.S. Don't listen to all your siblings, because Satan is one of them...

Elder Joseph Pilling
