First Week!

This week was a good week. We had a lot going on and so much to learn. I will start with this morning- we went out to the Provo temple. First off, the temple is massive, very very very pretty, and lots of paintings and pictures of the Savior. We went together as a district and we all seemed to really really enjoy and feel the spirit strongly. Most of the elders have only gone once so that was good.

entering the MTC

1st p-day temple trip as a district

I'm district leader and our district is 36D, 10 elders and no sisters. 8 are going to Logan Utah, my companion Elder Gallagher who is also going to Ventura California with me. We are rooming with 2 elders from another district who are also going to Ventura. I won't bore you with the details about who everyone is but I will say my companion is really easy going. He's great except he moves pretty slow, but Jackson Steedy boy did too so I'm used to it:) He's from Springville Utah.

Elder Silvernail is hilarious and makes everyone laugh, Elder Hudgins, whom I think of Vannessa Hudgins from So You Think You Can Dance to help me remember his name because I am bad with names. He's great. Reminds me of Moose Wilson. Great guy. Elder Biggly is from PEI I think of big peace to remember his name. He's awesome. I like him a lot. He's a zone leader. Elder Bowan is ginger. I think of bow man to remember that. He's super cool and relaxed. And very petite. Elder Wooten is from Georgia. Has an awesome accent. I think of who 10 to remember him. Elder Christiansen is tall and quiet. From Billings Montana. Elder Shwallier broke his key in the door. Classic. Nice guy for sure. Elder Hall is 20 and went to byu I for a while. Also a zone leader. He likes his jeep a lot and his expensive suits. That's all of us. You probably won't remember them at all but they are family here for sure so they mean a lot. We have a lot of spiritual discussions where everyone chimes in. Super super good. I love our discussions. Lol, I guess I did bore you with the details. Sorry!

My companion, Elder Gallagher

For exercise people play basketball or go lift heavy things. I run lol around a track. One day I did 40 laps (10 laps is a mile) and the following day I did 50 then I took a break and and just jogged for a bit. It gets a lil boring but better than basketball and I like running, clears my head.

We have 3 investigators (not real ones) we are teaching right now, Andy, Michael Friedman, and Sindy. Sindy didn't show up our first day, Michael is a jew which I know nothing of. Andy is a hard soul, like stares at the floor and gives one word answers. They are all converts and members but they act like they did when they met with missionaries. I'm learning a lot about teaching and about how crucial it is to teach with the spirit. And sometimes that doesn't even work, like with Andy, like I said tough soul.

What else y'alls need to know. One is that y'all is not slang so I'm allowed to say it. Guys is not allowed. I try not to say Gene but it still comes out which is alright I think.

I'm sure this email doesn't make a whole lot of sense but there's so much to say it's impossible to even know where to start.

I think they need pets here. I haven't seen an animal all week. Not even a bird. So that sucks. Like let's get some donkeys that roam or something cool!!!!

Basically all I know right now. There was an amazing cello and piano If you Could High to Kolob number. Not quite as good as the singing at my farewell but pretty close lol
